Nico Rosberg won chinese GP after claiming pole position on 14th april,2012. This is first victory for Mercedes since 1955 at Monza by legendry F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio. Nico was able to finish 20 seconds ahead of the competition. The remaining places on the podium is divided between McLaren drivers – Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. For the latter, the current third place in this season is the third in a row, but it is possible for him to take the lead in the championship. Nico Rosberg claimed his first ever pole position at Chinese GP. The german was furious as he was half a second faster at 1:35.121 than second driver on pole, Lewis Hamilton. Michael Schumacher managed third position but due to a gearbox penalty Lewis Hamilton will start from third position making Mercedes duo as front runners. This is also first pole position for Mercedes since 1955. This achievement is possible as a result of Mercedes innovative front wing design. Kimi Raikonnen managed fifth pole position followed by Jensen Button and Mark Webber at sixth and seventh position respectively. Current world champion Sebastian Vettel will start from Eleventh position.

Bugatti has launched its premiere version of the Vitesse convertible supercar Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport at Geneva motor show. It delivers a staggering 1184 hp and a whopping 1500 Nm(1106 lb-ft) of torque. Engine is same with four turbos in W16 format from the Veyron Super Sport. This is a remarkable supercar as previously, the CEO reported that the installation of 1,200-horsepower Bugatti Veyron on the open top is hardly possible because of difficulties with its cooling system. From “Ry Cooder & The Moula Banda Rhythm Aces: Let’s Have A Ball”, a film by Les Blank taped at The Catalyst, Santa Cruz, CA on March 25′th 1987. Comment from MrBillindallas: Concert was from a two night run – the last of nine total dates on the NorCal tour. Shot on 16mm film with an audio remote truck in the alley. Movie was released in Europe but not in the US. Great band, at one of the best venues in the ‘States, the last two nights of the mini-tour they were truly on fire. One venue was so small the band filled the stage and the dance floor.

A sad day for Porsche and automobile industry as Ferdinand Alexander Porsche grandson of Ferdinand Porsche died on April 5, 2012. He was a designer at Porsche who was responsible for first Porsche 911. He had also designed and shaped Porsche 904 which according to him was his favorite among other major accomplishments. His death occurred on the same day when the new Porsche 911 claims 2012 performance car of the year award. We pay our condolence to Porsche family.

Finally the all new Dodge viper is back after it was discontinued two years ago. The new viper will be sold under the brand SRT (Street Racing Technology – a brand of Chrysler division). Dodge has designed the viper supercar by keeping family traits like a very long bonnet, front wings inflated with “gills” and side exhaust pipes. Frame is mostly made of high strength steel and aluminum. The drag coefficient of new viper is very low at 0.364 against 0.45 for its predecessor which is impressive. Dodge viper now weighs at 1521 kg which is also 45 kg (100 pounds) less than previous model. Under the hood lies all aluminum 8.4 liter V10 engine with new forged pistons and a different intake manifold. As a result it now produces 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. It is a two seated car with a hybrid propulsion system consisting of a gasoline engine and an electric motor producing a decent 354 hp (combined) and 406 lb-ft of torque and with these figures of power and torque, the performance of the BMW Concept i8 spyder is a like a sport car.
